Patients become eligible for inpatient hospice care if their health deteriorates considerably. For example, suppose a patient suffers from sudden or uncontrollable pain that the hospice nurse and aide cannot alleviate. In that case, the patient will get transferred to an inpatient facility to receive the medication they need. Uncontrollable vomiting, nausea, or seizures will make a patient eligible for inpatient care, too. Patients who need regular dressing changes, close monitoring, or minor procedures to alleviate symptoms may also get transferred to these facilities. Once the symptoms lessen or no longer require round-the-clock care, patients get returned to their homes for regular hospice care. In addition to the at-home hospice care services we provide, we also have several inpatient facilities spread throughout the greater Los Angeles area. At these facilities, patients will receive the care they need to return home as quickly as possible. Whether the patient has to stay overnight or for an extended period, each room gets decorated to provide a cozy atmosphere and help the patient feel comfortable. The family is always encouraged to visit to stay involved in recovery. If your loved one needs to go into inpatient care, rest assured that they will receive the high-quality care you can expect from at-home hospice care.
